Hi Brian,

You absolutely should check out Office 2010 Beta. Since you're a OneNote fan, here's a list of 10 new features you'll get in the new OneNote: http://www.microsoft.com/office/2010/en/onenote/default.aspx. You can download it there, too.

Thanks again, Brian!

I definitely will! OneNote is such an incredibly useful and well-thought-out piece of software. I honestly wish more people knew about it and used it as much as I do.

There was a lot more that I wanted to talk about too, perhaps I'll write about that in future article. I've been meaning to try the Office 2010 OneNote beta. Might give that a shot too when I get a chance!

Hi Brian,

Thanks so much for your awesome feedback on OneNote. I'm so glad you've been pleased with your experience. I'm sure the OneNote team would love for you to share your expertise with the rest of the OneNote community at the OneNote page on Facebook. They're always looking for new tricks and tips, and it sounds like you've explored them all. :)

Oh man, I cringe whenever I see someone struggling to take notes in Word; really I feel sorry for them, but your story takes the cake.

Drawing figures/graphs is such a pain in Word. I'm always super quick in OneNote because you can automatically have it draw axes in both 2D and 3D for you and then sketch atop them. I should've included a screenshot.

I saw a guy in my CSC 345 class taking notes on his laptop in Word. He was spending most of his time "drawing" the graph diagrams that the teacher put on the board by using the circle and line tools to draw circles and make his own arrows. And every time it didn't come out perfectly he'd delete it and re-"draw" it. It was painful to watch.
